RE: Want to keep it looking new

Elbow grease and Poli Glow works for me. As for black streaks these come from the pollution and the roof run off. Black Streak Remover works well. Ken

RE: All Season Package on 2019 Kodiak Ultralite 201QB

Mostly All Season or Four-Season are stickers and that is it. Maybe heated tanks are included. A true Four-season trailer is a different animal and has dual pane windows, heated basement, heavier insulation, radiant heat barrier and they a lot more dollars and a lot more weight. To get into Four Season units, go look at Arctic Fox, DRV, New Horizon, Riverstone, etc. These are north of $200,000 and some $300,000 MSRP. Ken

RE: Cleaner For Plastic Sinks

NOTHING that is the least bit abrasive. Dish soap and water or cheap shampoo works great. Ken

RE: TT shopping

A 6000# travel trailer will have a loaded tongue or hitch weight of 600# up to maybe 720# or maybe more. Once you load the family and cargo into the pathfinder will you have the payload capacity to add the additional 720# to the Pathfinder. You cannot believe the brochure hitch weight as this is based on a dry trailer and does not include any manufacturers' options. Ken

RE: The Price Is Right

If that is a New Horizon 5er, well north of $250K. The truck, depending on age and mileage, probably another $100K Ken

RE: Need suggestions

What good is the dry weight unless you will never add any personal items to the trailer. You need to be looking at the trailer GVWR which is the trailer loaded and wet maximum rating. The manufacturers dry weight will not include any item listed as an option. Additional weight items may include batteries, full propane tanks, microwave, awning or Television. What are you planning to use for a tow vehicle? Ken

RE: Founded in 1928, RV company in Liquidation

We had one of the last two NUWA HitchHicker Champagnes built before they shut down. They built a quality trailer that did cost a bit more, but the market would not support a quality trailer. People are interested in the bling and glitz and the biggest box they can get for the fewest dollars. Ken

RE: 2007 Fleetwood Mallard 20FKS specs?

Ther should be a sticker on the left front of the trailer with the GVWR, tire size air pressure etc. Use 12 to 15% of the trailer for an estimate of the loaded trailer hitch weight for travel trailers. Ken

RE: Hard sided campers under 1500lbs with 6' int ht spreadsheet.

I think you may be searching for a trailer made by UNobtainium. Ken

RE: Fridge beeping

A gas/Electric RV fridge has to have 120 VAC to operate from electric for the heater. If you do not have 120 VAC shore power, the fridge controls run from 12 VDC and the fridge from propane. Turn on the propane. Ken

RE: TT Wear on one tire..only took few short trips

A year ago, a couple in the park with a brand-new Solitude had bad tore wear from the trip to the dealer in Houston and 40 miles then to their site. After a trip to the dealer to check things and a new tire, they took a 300 mile trip and just about wore out the tire again. Back to the dealer and they had a trailer alignment shop check the trailer and the spring hangers on one axle were not put on right from Lippert. A trailer shop repaired the spring hangers and Lippert paid the bill and another new tire. Ken

Out of alignment or a loose wheel bearing. Ken

Can you even begin to phantom an American made travel trailer holding up to just a few miles of the trails they were on> Ken

RE: Black Ants in outdoor kitchen

I believe Ortho makes a spray called Home Defense. Might check the label. Have you tried the home remedy from borax and sugar as a paste, placed on paper squares. Ken

RE: Black Ants in outdoor kitchen

You may need to treat the area around the RV with a product like Spectracide (SP). If you can see mounds outside, use Orthene.

RE: Tires- LT or ST

My tires are also 225/75R15. A scan of Discount Tire site doesn't give me any LT options. Guess that saves me from having to decide.... Lots of folks decide to ditch the 15" wheels and put on a set of 16" wheels for a better tire selection. Make sure you have sufficient clearance for any larger or taller tires/wheels. Ken

RE: Tires- LT or ST

Get the best tire you can for the RV and tow vehicle. Above all, do not go with a cheap Chinese tire. Use a good quality TPMS and weigh the loaded trailer to ensure you are not overloaded and stay within the speed rating for your tires. Every time we go out we have people blow past us at 75 mph plus and from the cheap trailer, I am sure they are running the original cheap Chines tires with a 65 mph speed rating. Ken

RE: Time to Part with Loved Travel Trailer

We have sold two trailers through PPL Motorhomes consignments in Houston. We were pleased with both sales. We did not have to deal with the scammers and lookie-lous. They handled the whole deal with o one time clean-up fee and kept the trailer clean. We set a minimum acceptable price and they handle the deal from there. Once they had a buyer we were notified, and the new buyer had the option of taking it as is or paying for an inspection. Any shortcomings were reported, and you negotiate any repairs. After the trailer was delivered it was a few days later we had the money deposited to our account or could opt for a paper check. Ken

RE: Is ForestRiver nuts or what? (Single axel Vibe)

How do they get away with building like this. Because people keep buying the same old garbage. Are they even using any kind of hitch with sway control? But most likely, they need to add tongue weight. Ken

Thank you for advising the outcome. So many never report back how an issue was resolved. Ken
